Music of the Month (That Might've inspired my outfits) : May & June

I am with another list of songs that have inspired my outfits!

1.) Loner by Kali Uchis
     Why:
I love Kali Uchis voice its very romantic sounding here. The theme of the music video                          goes along with her retro-mod style, and connects all her other videos. This music video                     inspired to take a risk and try some retro-mod clothing styles in the end of may.

2.) Fashion Killa by A$AP Rocky
     Why:
This song is real throw back, but it made it's way back into my playlist recently. I just really like          the laid back vibe I get from the song. The song kinda reminds me of Coachella it has summer            drives on a desert highway sound. It is also on my playlist cause it reminds to dress my best               everyday.

3.) One Dance by Drake Ft. Wiz Kid and Kyla
     Why:
Simply put the song reminds me of summer, and kept my hyped while finals rolled in. When I             would put thissong on it made me think of summer festivals (and summer festival clothes).

4.) Controlla by Drake
     Why:
Same reason asabove, but it also reminded me of night- time at music festival. These two songs            inspired to buy a lace up pink shirt.

5.) Netflix N Kill by Jackal, Dr. Fresch
     Why:
If you follow me on Instagram you would know I have been working again. I go to the gym three         to four days a week, so I've  recently been creating a workout playlist and this song has moved           to the top.

6.)  Animal Style by Jackal
      Why:
It's another EDM workout song, that was played at one my Buti Yoga class and has made it's                way to the top of my playlist.

7.)  Childish Gambino
      Why:
I think I have played Retro [Rough], 3005, IV. SwearpantsI,  III. Telegraph Ave.("Oakland"                by Lloyd), and Sober non-stop in May and June. Childish Gambino has an orginal style of rap            and fashion. He music and fashion inspired me to try a new clothing style

8.) Major Lazer
     Why:
Major Lazer is always my go to for summer music (or workout music). The music reminds me
of summer jobs, parties, and adventures.

9.) BADLANDS (the album) by Halsey
     Why:
This album is just a good mood-setter for driving, cooking, sleeping, or just plain chilling. The
styling of the album gives you such a nice but powerful vibe. Halsey also has been on "keep-              tabs on because this artist has amazing style" lately.

10.) Dangerous Woman by  Ariana Grande
      Why:
This album was such a shocker to me because  I didn't like her last album. However this album is          my summer jam. Side to Side  featuring Nicki Minaj is so so good. This album defineltly helps
on days I am not feeling like a fashion godesss.

Future of Fashion 2016

As a dedicated follower of fashion tracking trends is a daily activity. Even with Fashion being a fast-always-changing society it has solid moments that come once in the fall and once in the spring it’s called  fashion week. These define what people will wear in the upcoming season- or the trend setters for daily wear. The looks that made the ‘in list’ where flower child based designs; X-factor, Orange Is the New Black,  and Fringe Binge.

The first trend jetting off the runway is the romantic (or Maybe cold shoulder? ) X-Factor dress, blouses. The design in gives a dreamy, classic, romantic kind of look. The design is based off a halter top, now however the piece has sleeves that start few inches below the shoulder and seems to sit loosely by drooping down at a thirty to forty-five degree angle. This causes the dress or blouse to give the upper body an illusion of a  ‘X’. The designers that showed this look where no tiny names Givenchy and Proenza Schouler repeated this design throughout their whole collections. The fact that two big names put the design into their shows guarantees that they will show up in the spring/summer of 2016, and whether it's by celebrities wearing them as the temperature rises or cheaper brands create knock offs they will be here in the spring.

I am not talking about the hit television show Orange Is the New Black becoming a spring trend. The ever so bright colour of  prison jumpsuits is trend for Spring/Summer of 2016, and honestly they do give the ever so chic black clothes in people’s closet a run for their money. The colour is in everything from hair to shoes. The colour even though bold has been seen to still look stylish enough to be used in street-wear.  There also seems to an overlapping sense of  1960’s and 1970’s inspiration among the designers for the future of style.

The trends continue to with the vintage binge of  fringe. This trend has been going on for a few season now, but this time the more dramatic it is the better. It’s than before dreamier because the fringe is on less structured shapes, and it's used more to give a organic easy feeling. That easy going feel ties into the flower child underlying tone in  S/S 2016.
When seasons have a underling style that is easy it will more than likely become a trend because of its sense flow, stylability, and marketing potential. The appeal of the flower child style meets majority of criteria for becoming a trend, it creates a sense of cohesion, it mixes and matches with easy (making the morning so easy and lovely), and magazines can make issues relate throughout the whole thing. The public find trends through magazines by watching what their favorite celebs are wearing, and then it makes people want it more and before you know it  everyone has something related to the trend.

Sweatshirt from Mango - Review

I bought and ordered a sweater online from a Spain based fashion company called Mango. I got it on a sale so it originally costed 40+/- dollars, and I got it for $24.99.

The sweater came in  nice packaging that had a handle for delivery. It was wrapped twice. I personally liked that, because it's rainy this time of year so it kept the product from getting wet.

The delivery process was fast, it took about five days to arrive .The company stated it should take seven to nine days. Mango also gave me a tracking code so I could keep track of sweatshirt.

So a huge plus with Mango was the product was super easy to unwrap, because of the simple packaging design. The company put a bit of tissue paper in between the folds to prevent permanet wrinkling to the product.

 Good Luck.

I love this sweater so much because of it's message. I ordered a size large in hope of having an oversized sweater for fall-spring, but the sweater is a bit small length wise. It still works just not what I was expecting. I plan to layer it with my long button-ups this fall-spring, or wear it with interesting bottoms + accessories. The sweater is completely cotton besides the lettering that seems to be some form of vinyl blend. I would recommend washing it on cold+delicate, and letting it air dry for best results.I will post a picture of how I will style when it gets closer to fall.

8/10
